Hello — I’m Brooke McBurnie.

With a documentary and heartfelt approach, I truly have a passion for the slow, intentional nature of analog photography. I also feel a heartfelt responsibility to capture love on real 35mm, 120 and Super 8 film - with a sprinkle of digital in there too!

To be in love is a special phenomenon — and I, sometimes, am lucky enough to take photos of the celebrations that are dedicated to it.

P.S. I’m a crier. Like, I am notorious for slightly to heavily sobbing over love ((in the best way)). A great deal of wedding days I have been honoured to capture have featured my very own eyes welling up. Whether that be in the speeches, the walk down the aisle, the veil getting put on, a Grandparent’s congratulations hug - let’s just say there’s always plenty of room for my happy tears making an appearance.

If this doesn’t give you an insight into why I do what I do + how invested I get into your own personal love story; I don’t know what will.

I feel all the feelings. I notice all the little moments. I try to grab those moments so you have them forever.

I’ve spent most of my life on the Mornington Peninsula. The winter nostalgia of skating and taking photos with my most loved ones will always have my heart. Taking photos has always been my thing.

Bringing a camera with me literally everywhere in my early teens allowed me to document the early days of meeting my best friends and later, my now husband. Having this archive of love - platonic and romantic - inspires me everyday to make these loved up galleries and archives for couples. It’s very special to have documented my life via film, if I can do it for others I would be a happy girl.
